Organizers
of Galveston Island’s 100th Mardi Gras celebration declared that 492 contestants
dance the Hokey Pokey at Mardi Gras! Galveston – established the latest world
record for the Largest Umbrella Dance. The earlier Guinness world record for
the largest umbrella dance was attained by 322 participants at an occasion
prearranged by Acharya World Class Educational Institutions (India) in
Pondicherry, India. Guinness World Records as well renowned the Largest Mambo
dances record, set by 3,868 participants who danced to Perez Prado’s Mambo No.
5 for five minutes at Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona, Spain.
