Sheikh Abdul Haq Muhaddis Dehlavi
(May Allah Have Mercy on Him)
Birth: 958 A.H, (1552 A.D.) Death: 1052 A.H, (1642 A.D.)
Arriving in India from the Hijaz. Sheikh Muhaddis found
that Emperor Akbar’s thinking had become crystallized into Deed-i-Illahi (Divine’s
Law) and Islamic mores were being ridiculed.
In such a terrible situation Sheikh Abdul Haq founded an
educational institution and busied himself in teaching the Quran and the Hadith
till the last moments of his life.

He was born in Dehli during Islam Shah Suri’s reign. His father devoted a good deal of care of
attention to his education.
As a result, the Sheikhs learned the Holy Quran in three
months, and knew how to write, in only one month.
He learned Arabic and Persian from his father. by the
time he reached the age of 18 years he had acquired all rational and
traditional knowledge. in the meantime, he also acquired knowledge from the
scholars of the Trans-Oxus. inspired by his father he continued to acquire
exoteric as well as esoteric knowledge.
At the age of 38, he went to Hijaz where he took lessons
in Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim. afterward, he came under the influence of Sheikh Abdul
Wahab Muttaqi became his disciple and received permission to make his disciples.
On instruction from his spiritual guide round, he
returned to the subcontinent and founded an educational institution to
counter-act the irreligious thinking that had begun to spread during the reign
of Emperor Akbar and, since then, spent all his life in teaching the Quran and
the Hadith.
In 985 A.H, he became attached to a famous saint of the
Quadriyah Order who conferred upon him his lieutenancy. also in Dehli, he
became a disciple of Hazrat Khawaja Baqi-bil-Lah.
His tomb shrine is situated in Delhi India.
