Makhdoom Jalauddin Jahanian Jahangasht

(May Allah Have Mercy on Him)

Birth: 707 A.H, (1308 A.D.)    Death: 785 A.H, (1383 A.D.)

He became famous with the sobriquet Jahanian Jahangasht
or wanderer through the world. He was very fond of traveling, during which he
toured Egypt, Syria Iraq, Balkh, Bokhara, and other Islamic countries. He
performed the Hajj several times and visit the tomb of the Holy Prophet (peace
be upon him).

First, he became a disciple of his father in the
Suharwardiya order. later, he received benedictions from his uncle Sheikh
Sadruddin Mohammed Ghaus, and, still, later, the robe of lieutenancy from
Sheikh Ruknuddin Mutani.

Makhdoom Jahanian was the recipient of lieutenancy from
14 lines of Sufis (saints) and was blessed by all the saints of his time
including Sheikh Baha Uddin Zakariya of Multan.

He spent his entire life preaching Islam and reverted
thousand of non-muslims to Islam. Sultan Muhammad Tughlaq greatly adored him
but he always declined his tempestuous offer. His tomb shrine is situated in
the former State of Bahawalpur Ouch Sharif (Punjab-Pakistan).

آپؒ نے
“جہانیاں جہاں گشت” کے لقب سے شہرت پائی. آپ کو سیاحت کا بہت شوق تھا
اور اس سیاحت میں آپ نے مصر و شام و عراق و بلخ اور بخارا کے علاوہ وہ دیگر اسلامی
ممالک اور حرمین شریفین کے دورے کیے اور متعدد بار حج اور زیارتِ روضه رسول ﷺ سے
مشرف ہوئے۔

آپؒ نے پہلے
پہل اپنے والد محترم سے سلسلہً سُہروردیہ میں بعیت کی۔ پھراپنے چچا شیخ صدر الدّین
مُحمّد غُوث سے خرقہً تبریک حاصل کیا. پھرشیخ رُکن الّدین مُلتانی سے خرقہً خلافت
پایا. مخدُوم جہانیاں چودہ خانوادوں کے خلیفہ ہیں۔

تمام اولیا
ئےِ وقت سے فیض یاب ہوئے ہیں. آپؒ نے شیخ بہاؤالّدین زکریا مُلتانی سے بھی فیض
حاصل کیا. ساری عمر تبلیغ دین میں گزاری. ہزاروں غیر مسلموں کو حلقہً بگوشِ اسلام
کیا۔

سُلطان مُحمّد تُغلق آپؒ کا بہت عقیدت مند تھا، اس نے آپ کو شیخُ اِلاسلام کا
خطاب دیکر چالیس خانقاہیں آپ کی تحویل میں دینی

چاہی۔

 لیکن آپ نے انکار کردیا. آپ
کے مریدوں کی تعداد دو لاکھ تک بتائی جاتی ہے. 

آپ کا  مزار مبارک سابق ریاست ۔بہاولپُور کے مقام اُوچ شریف (پنجاب پاکستان) میں ہے
