Summary of Quran Chapter 1 Surah Al Fatiha The Opening,
Hadith
1. Introduction to Surah Al-Fatihah (The Cow)
the Qur’an. It has a total of seven verses, but it is the greatest surah of the
Qur’an. This Surah has also been called Umm Al-Quran and is also the basis of the
Quran. That is, it is the root, the basis, and the basis for the whole Qur’an.
In what sense is the name Al-Fatiha? فَتَحَ يَفتَحُ
means to open. Since the Qur’an begins with this Surah, it is Surah Al-Fatihah
(The Opening Surah of the Qur’an).
One of its names is Al-Kafiyya meaning Sufficient, while
one name is Al-Shafi’i meaning Healing. Secondly, note that this Surah is the
first complete Surah to be revealed to Muhammad, the Messenger of God. Various
verses were revealed before that. The first five verses of Surah Al-Alaq, then
seven verses of Surah N or Surah Al-Qalam, then nine verses of Surah
Al-Muzammil, then seven verses of Surah Al-Muddaththir and then seven verses of
Surah Al-Fatihah were revealed. But this is the first complete surah that has
been revealed to Muhammad, the Messenger of God.
Surah Al-Fatiha 1-7 Quran Chapter One
Surah Al-Fatihah is not only the first surah in the
present order of the Holy Qur’an, but it is the first surah to be revealed in
its entirety. No surah had been revealed before that. On the contrary, some
verses of some Surahs came. The intention of placing this surah at the
beginning of the Holy Qur’an seems to be that whoever seeks guidance from the
Holy Qur’an, should first acknowledge the attributes of his Creator and Master
and give thanks to Him One should seek guidance from Him like a seeker.
Therefore, in it, the servants are taught the prayer that a seeker of truth
should ask from Allah, that is, the prayer of the straight path. Thus, in this
Surah, the supplication for a straight path has been asked, the whole Qur’an is
an explanation of what that straight path is.
Surah Al-Fatihah has three parts
You can divide this blessed Surah into three parts. In
the first three verses, there is praise and glorification of Allah, in the last
three verses, there is a supplication to Allah, while in the fourth verse there is a covenant between the servant and his Lord. It is like a hand slack
of Allah and the servant.
Part One: In the first three verses, man expresses the
facts as far as he is concerned. These three verses together form one sentence.
Part Two: The second part of Surah Al-Fatihah consists of
only one verse, which is the main verse of this Surah in every respect.
Part Three: However the middle and central verse is the
statement between the servant and Allah. Which is the division between Allah
and the servant.
Hadith on Surah Al Fatiha
The benefit of Surat al-Fatihah, Allah
Almighty response
Abu Huraira reported
The Prophet, peace, and blessings are upon him, said,
“Allah Almighty said: I have divided prayer between Myself and My servant into
two halves, and My servant shall have what he has asked for. When the servant
says, ‘All praise is due to Allah the Lord of the worlds,’ Allah says: My
servant has praised Me. When he says, ‘The Gracious, the Merciful,’ Allah says:
My servant has exalted Me. When he says, ‘The Master of the Day of Judgment,’
Allah says: My servant has glorified Me and my servant has submitted to Me.
When he says, ‘You alone we worship, You alone we ask for help,’ Allah says:
This is between Me and My servant, and My servant will have what he has asked
for. When he says, ‘Guide us to the straight path, the path of those whom you
have favored, not those who went astray,’ Allah says: This is for My servant,
and My servant will have what he has asked for.”

According to this hadith, Surah Al-Fatihah will be
divided into three parts. The first part is for the totality of Allah and the
last part is totally for the servant, while the middle and central verse is the
statement between the servant and Allah. As if the first half of it is for
Allah and the second half is for the servant. In this way, the division of half
and a half was completed.
Saying Ameen at the End
Saying Ameen at the end of this Surah is a good way.
“Ameen” means, O Allah, so be it. Since the style of this blessed
Surah is supplication, at the end of the supplication, saying Amen, the servant
then goes to Allah and says, “O my Lord! | I have submitted this petition to
you, so accept it.
