2018 study from the University of Eastern Finland also found that eating fatty
fish four times a week could help increase the body’s health-promoting
cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Research
shows that fish increase HDL or good cholesterol levels, especially in people
whose glucose metabolism is impaired.

Similarly,
the omega-3 fatty acids in fish can help lower the levels of harmful
cholesterol LDL, which lowers the risk of coronary heart disease, heart attack,
or stroke.

The
results of this study were published in the medical journal Molecular Nutrition
